WHO I AM?
My name is Kin Océlotl Cuauhtli, I live in Mexico City.
Since I was a child, science and technology have stolen my attention, especially the universe.
My fascination for science and technology has been a constant journey of discovery, from the ancient lifeforms encapsulated in fossils to the vastness of space explored through astronomy. Documentaries on prehistoric insects and the mysteries of the universe, along with the imaginative realms of science fiction and artificial intelligence, have all fueled my curiosity. Marveling at how our era, with the latest AI inventions and models, is closing in on science fiction ideas from the past, I’m captivated by the endless possibilities that lie in understanding the cosmos and harnessing the potential of AI
Studies
I finish my bachelor in mechatronic engineer in the Universidad Pólitecnica de Chiapas in 2016. Following that, I pursued a Master’s degree in Astrophysics at the Instituto de Astronomía (IA) within the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), from 2017 to 2022. Currently, I am continuing my studies at the same institution, working towards a PhD in Astrophysics.
In my current research, I am focused on two distinct but equally fascinating projects. The first involves a comparative analysis of location algorithms developed for the Fermi satellite. This study aims to assess and enhance the precision of these algorithms, which are critical for accurately pinpointing the origins of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in the cosmos.
Simultaneously, I am engaged in the hunt for kilonovae through the detection of short gamma-ray bursts with Fermi and observations made with the Deca-Degree Optical Transient Imager (DDOTI). This work is part of a broader effort to understand these extraordinary events, which are thought to be the result of collisions between neutron stars, shedding light on the universe’s most energetic processes and the synthesis of heavy elements.
Professional Experience
My career showcases a robust engagement with Salesforce development, underpinned by a broad technical skill set and a dedication to enhancing process efficiency and user experience.
- Mi Lámina, Salesforce Developer: In this role, I focus on Apex and Lightning development to improve sales process efficiency, including integrating external services. My work encompasses optimizing background operations with asynchronous Apex, refining sales process modeling, advancing automation with Salesforce Flows and Apex, managing trigger flows, and overseeing Salesforce administration, along with automating quoting and approval processes.
- Grupo Salinas, Salesforce Developer: Here, I specialized in developing and optimizing Aura components for better user interfaces in Service Cloud, crafting custom RESTful services in Apex, and facilitating seamless interactions between Apex and Salesforce flows to enhance customer service operations. My contributions also included designing screen flows and setting up Omnichannel for real-time customer service responsiveness.
- Freelance Salesforce Developer: I spearheaded a comprehensive Salesforce implementation for Viajes Itzaa, focusing on customization for optimized sales processes. My freelance projects also covered no-code web development with WordPress and social media management for various clients.
- Fast Cloud Consulting, Consultant: My consultancy work involved collaborating on multiple projects, focusing on Service and Sales Cloud functionalities. I assisted in customizing Salesforce environments, enhancing client engagement through CRM modules, and ensuring data integrity through migration and maintenance tasks.
Hobbies
Apart from my dedication to astrophysics, I find fun and relaxation in physical activities that help me disconnect and recharge. Rugby is one of my favorite pastimes; playing as a forward for the Pumas Rugby Team at UNAM in CDMX has taught me a lot about teamwork and resilience. It’s a great way to challenge myself outside my research work.
I also have a strong connection to Huatulco, Oaxaca, where I spent my childhood and adolescence. Whenever I get the chance to go back, I make the most of it by bodyboarding. It’s an activity that reconnects me with the ocean and brings back great memories from my time growing up there.
